 History
An important piece of Sorrento's history, the Sedil Dominova lies in front of the bell tower to the side of Sorrento Cathedral, acting as a permanent shrine to the aristocrats and families who helped form Sorrento. Built around 1450 and perfectly preserved the sedile, was the building in which the city fathers gathered to make laws and decide on economic and administrative matters. Today the local men of the town use the place to drink coffee, play cards, and exchange gossip.

 Whats to see
Its architecture is wonderfully ornate, promoting a quadrilateral form with two corner arches in piperno (lava) permitting the view of the interior of the cupola and the end walls with 18th century frescoes. The pilasters and polystyle arches with their capotals are in archaic style. In typically extravagant yet classical Italian style, the 17th century cupola is formed by green and yellow majolica roof tiles. The city coat of arms as well as those of the various families of the Sorrento aristocracy are displayed in its interior. The interior also has some stunning 15th Century frescos.
