 Introduction
Cattolica is situated on the border of Romagna and Marche regions, it is an ancient port surrounded by green hills and noble castles including Gradara.
It is known as the Queen of the Adriatic as it offers a lovely centre full of surprises at every corner, good shops, fashionable places and restaurants offering all the best local cuisine. It's sandy golden beach offers every service necessary and overlooks Gabicce. Sea lovers can visit one of the most famous marine parks in Europe Le Navi.
 Arrival
From Bologna airport take the bus to the station and then a train to Cattolica, it takes about to hour to get there.
 History and Culture
Cattolica was in fact a stop in the travel of the pilgrims that covered the Bologna-Ancona-Rome journey, it was in particular a way for those who went in pilgrimage to the sanctuary of Loreto or Saint Peter in Rome. In 1500 it counted more than twenty saloons and inns which were used by people at sea, travellers, and geographers of the age. The city of Catolica's main economy was from hospitality but from the second half of the 800's the fishing industry entered in the economy of the town.
One of the first vistors of the velvet beach of Cattolica was Luciano Bonaparte, brother of the Emperor, in the 1823 , who preferred it to the noisy Rimini. This regal character of Cattolica is still in the motto of the town that is The Queen of the Adriatic Sea The continuation of the tourism business improved in 1861 when the railway axis Bologna-Ancona was built allowing the rich families of the country to construct their summer residences in Cattolica.

Galleria Comunale S. Croce
Former Church of S. Croce built at the end of the sixteenth century beside the hospital of the pilgrims.
Chiesa di S. Apollinare
Probably built at the end of the thirteenth century, official mentioned in 1313. The actual building is of the year 1782.
Chiesa di S. Pio
It was built in the year 1859.
Chiesa di S. Antoni
It was built in the year 1970.

La Rocca
Built in the 1491, it was residence of the Captain of Cattolica, chosen by the council of Rimini, for the defence of the suburb.

Some finds of a house of the Roman age.
