Owned in the 13th century by the old Florentine family Del Corno, which apparently originated there, this is one of the finest and oldest estates in the Val di Pesa. In 1523, Filippo Strozzi's widow Selvaggia purchased it from Agnolo di Bonaiuto Serragli for and on behalf of her sons, Lorenzo and Filippo.It has belonged to the Counts Frova since 1911. The "Il Corno" villa is at the centre of a typical Tuscan farm estate that extends for about 230 hectares (ca. 519 acres) over a hilly area, in the immediate vicinity of Florence. It boasts more than 77 hectares of specialized vineyards and about 10,000 olive trees.
